As a new dog rescue shelter manager, Jenn worked hard to save every dog that came into the rescue, Dogs First. Lost dogs, injured dogs, hyperactive pups, sad, scared and lonely dogs, big and small, young and old – they all seem to need her help.
Right now, she is planning to adopt two more herself.
She and the other shelter workers often use their own funds to pay for veterinary expenses for some of the dogs’ vet and special needs care. And there are just never enough funds to cover these costs.
Forget trying to find a new relationship in her life – too busy. After work, Jenn just crawls home and hangs out with Ingrid, her lovable pug pal. Friends urge her to get out there again so long after Mark left, but she has no time or energy to find a new relationship.
In walks Cole, an arrogant, cocky trust fund hunk. He had worked at and managed the shelter until he moved to California a while ago to be with his family during his older sister’s final illness. Cole always seemed to have his own (annoying) opinions about the dogs at the shelter.
